How to properly maintain your relaxation chair according to its material?

That's it! You finally got your relaxation armchair ! 

For you the long moments of relaxation in front of the television, the pleasure of a book or to enjoy a good nap!

But be careful, an armchair needs maintenance... Indeed, whatever the material of your relax chair, whether manual or electric, it needs to be maintained so that it lasts over time. Take care of it and clean it yes, but you shouldn't do anything either!

Each material has specific characteristics and accepts certain cleaning products. For your chair to last and keep its comfort, it is therefore necessary to dust it regularly and to clean it quickly and efficiently in the event of stains, for example. That being said, how do you do it? We are going to get to the heart of the matter…

2 types of materials for 2 types of cleaning

On our site, you can come across several materials for relaxation chairs. Whether it is an arkchair from our design, Relax or Senior range, some models are available in leather, velvet or microfiber.

For each model, it is important to know how to maintain it to make it last over time. In the event of greasy stains or other inconveniences on the chair, you must also know how to react quickly and well in order to clean the chair properly. We are going to classify the maintenance of our armchairs into 2 categories, and therefore we will look at the maintenance of a leather armchair on the one hand, and on the other of a fabric chair.

Leather Care Kit

We have 2 cleaning packs for our armchairs, available on the site. You are free to order them in addition to your purchase of an armchair, but we obviously recommend their use, which will be perfectly suited to cleaning your precious armchair.

In the event of stains or to clean your relax chair regularly, simply soak a small sponge in the cleaning product and pass it lightly over the entire leather surface. After this first pass, we recommend that you use a small cream (also present in our pack) in order to preserve the hydration of the material and avoid cracking. A little wipe afterwards, and you're done!

Be careful though, this product is not suitable for nubuck or suede.

CARE OF FABRIC RELAXATION ARMCHAIR

A large part of our armchair ranges are available in fabric, generally either velvet or microfiber. In both cases, you can maintain your wheelchair using the dedicated maintenance pack available on the site.

In this pack, you will find a cleaner to be used regularly in the same way as for leather in the event of stains on the upholstery, as well as a protective spray to limit the impact that a liquid can have on the chair or even certain food stains for example.

The advantage of this kit is that it is just as suitable for velvet as for any other fabric. No risk of being wrong!

What to avoid doing to protect your wheelchair

• Do not place your wheelchair near a heat source. Whether it's a radiator or prolonged exposure to the sun, the upholstery of your chair will gradually deteriorate and discolor.
• It's simple, but be careful not to leave a drink or any other liquid near the chair to avoid the risk of stains as much as possible. Use cleaning products suitable for the chair and its material.
• Cleaning your chair with the wrong product can do more harm than good!
• Take care of your animals! Our friends the cats can have fun scratching their claws on the chair! In this case, plan a thick blanket to cover your chair, or teach your pet that he is not allowed to go on it, if by chance he listens to you!
