My New Design: Choosing your armchair according to your needs

This is an important element for feeling good at home, in one's body, and recharging by taking the time to relax.

This is especially true in the current context where we spend a lot of time at home, move less, and can neglect our health.
Regardless of age, our body needs these moments of rest and relaxation to recharge and relieve any pain. Contrary to popular belief, a relaxation armchair is not just for seniors, far from it!
In your home, it is the best ally for well-being, and that goes for everyone. Designers, suppliers, and manufacturers are constantly seeking to optimize comfort and customization to adapt to everyone's needs.
That's why you can find a whole range of very different options and features depending on the armchair chosen.

These different features are present to promote the user's relaxation and well-being:

  • Headrest: non-existent, fixed, removable, or disengageable
  • Footrest: separate or integrated, visible or internal
  • Structure: fixed, 360° swivel, on castors…
  • Mechanism: manual, electric on mains or with battery option; 1 or more motors to activate relaxing functions independently or not
  • Armrests: Raised, flared, non-existent

What are your needs and how do you want to use your reclining armchair?

A reclining armchair can be suitable for both private individuals and professionals.
Whether for your personal home to feel good at home, for relaxation areas in businesses, or even to create a moment of relaxation in a psychologist's office, for example, the reclining armchair remains relevant!
Every day, we all feel the need to relax and recharge.
In a reclined position, even pathological back tensions are relieved.

How to make your choice?

There are many types of reclining armchairs, so your choice should be based on your needs and the characteristics of these different armchairs.

The designer armchair

The designer reclining armchair is mainly for those who wish to combine comfort and elegance. Its presence will give a new breath of life and real character to your living room or any other room in which you place it. It's the perfect armchair if you don't necessarily suffer from back pain, but still want to be perfectly seated to read a book, watch television.
In two words: for a moment of relaxation.
One of the models that can suit this type of need is the NAOS model at My New Design, several leather colors to adapt to different interiors and preferences, a large headrest for comfortable rest, and an associated footrest to stretch your legs.

The manual reclining armchair

Another option is the classic manual reclining armchair. A less designer version than the previous one but just as functional.
For example, the ATHOS can be perfectly suitable for relaxing. Manual reclining armchairs, at least those from My New Design, remain easily movable, which offers a certain freedom in their use.
For the ATHOS model, as for many of them, it is possible to manually adjust the headrest to adapt to your body shape, and to recline the backrest to fully enjoy the comfort that this type of armchair can offer.

The electric reclining armchair

In parallel, electric reclining armchairs can also suit you. They are purely created for relaxation and make your life easier with perfect comfort.
They can have one or more motors (like our SATURNE model equipped with two motors) allowing either a global relaxing position, or independently for the back and legs. It therefore adapts to all body shapes, allows you to easily adapt to your use without moving, often thanks to the use of a small remote control.

The massage and/or heated armchair

If you are of a very stressed nature, and your moments of relaxation must correspond to a moment in your bubble completely cut off from the outside world, a massage armchair can undoubtedly be relevant. It will not replace a physiotherapist, but it can still help relieve you while staying at home.
