Armchair(s) or sofa?

Beyond offering you a space for rest and tranquility, living room furniture is also made for living together: Hosting friends, family, children, so that everyone can find their place and comfort.

Retrospective

Just 20 or 30 years ago, sofas were never bought alone: They had to be bought with matching armchairs, ottomans, and coffee tables.
Imposing, often leather, adorned with carved wood, they were made to last for decades. Which they did!
These pieces of furniture were found in everyone's home, only the colors or shapes changed slightly. The leather living room was perceived as a symbol of social success.
Certainly very comfortable, this type of decor has aged very badly. Today, they are found in second-hand shops at ridiculously low prices because nobody wants them anymore!

The return of the armchair as a standalone piece of furniture

For several years now, the sofa has obviously retained its place, and for some, it will remain the central element of the living room.
However, we no longer buy it to last 100 years.
Time for imagination and creativity!
Bohemian, Scandinavian, designer, or vintage: mismatched furniture with no defined style has a knack for mixing our decor with taste and audacity.

How to mix and match living room furniture?

A convivial room par excellence, the living room will be even more so with a decor that is truly yours. Fantastically combine styles, eras, and colors.
With a sense of observation and association, know how to mix furniture slightly patinated by time, flea market finds with designer armchairs, add a colorful rug, an ultra-contemporary lamp.
Mix different materials and styles: Leather or microfiber armchair with a wooden shell and rattan end table.

New uses

The living room has therefore evolved considerably in recent years.
Once reserved for aperitifs with friends and TV evenings, it is no longer the space dedicated to the large sofa.
The armchair regains its place, and its comfort is a primary criterion.
For hours spent on our smartphones or tablets, but also for reading or listening to music with our Bluetooth headphones, the recliner has become our best ally for these moments of tranquility and meditation in our living spaces.
My New Design offers a wide range of relaxation armchairs, manual or electric, with or without footrests, to help you create this space of your own, with originality and without forgetting COMFORT!
