The importance of interior decoration and furniture (in the bedroom)
as seen by those who don't always choose it: CHILDREN
That's it, I'm finally changing my room!
I remember the first time I redecorated my room, I was very happy.
But I didn't know anything about it, which seems pretty normal. I can tell you that for children, furniture and decor also matter, just as much as they do for you adults!
For parents who don't know how to go about it, this article is for you!
The decoration
First of all, the decoration. Wallpaper or paint?
Grey, white or pink? We children don't really know what we want.
But we know what we DON'T want!
So parents, if you scold us because we always say no to every suggestion, note it down!
You should keep what we don't say no to.
And for objects (which, let's be honest, often end up somewhere completely different from their original place), we want to keep some old ones!
But what we mostly want is to have lots of new ones... (Every situation is a good excuse to buy us new toys, after all!)
Whatever the case, be careful to respect children's wishes, while setting limits!
Otherwise, they might make you regret it every day...
The furniture
Furniture is also very important, I would even say more important than decoration!
Unlike adults, we see decoration as secondary.
The arrangement and choice of furniture is what we see first!
In my experience, the bed is (obviously!) the most important piece of furniture.
This is where we spend all our time when we are in our room, after of course the center of the room, surrounded by our favorite toys. So, if you don't know where to start, keep reading!
Once the bed is placed, toy bins or the wardrobe come next.
We also pay a lot of attention to where our belongings are stored.
When these three elements are decided, the rest doesn't matter much. Ultimately, it's not that complicated!
Finally, I address parents (or grandparents!):
For your child's room, make sure to respect their wishes, they probably won't have many, and they will thank you for listening to them.
Imagine living in a place you don't like!
Of course, you'll need to add a bit of harmony and order to this room, which will already have all the charm of childhood.
