Slow Made at My New Design
But what exactly is it?
Slow Made is a movement aimed at re-establishing the value of time to produce better, work better, and consume better.
This movement was launched in 2012 and is supported by the Mobilier National and the Institut National des Métiers d'Art. This movement encourages a responsible ethic from the creator and producer. The goal of Slow Made is therefore to raise awareness and promote the creative professions.
The values of Slow Made
This concept of Slow Made is based on many values:
• Research: the time for design and reflection, experimentation and realization, dialogue and exchange
• Gesture: manufacturing that masters savoir-faire. Knowledge of inherited or innovative gestures.
• Practice: linked to sustainable development, human labor, traditional or innovative materials and tools
• Transmission: a commitment to transmit the values associated with the culture of time and savoir-faire
• Appropriation: the buyer becomes a responsible, informed, and aware actor, himself carrying values to share and transmit
• Fair price: the Slow Made object is sold at a price that takes into account the time of development and manufacturing
Slow Made contrasts the disposable consumption model with a sustainable model aimed at producing less and better. It seeks to engage economic actors in savoir-faire towards "patient development" where the time necessary for growth (research and production) is taken into consideration and valued. In this context, we work in close collaboration with our factories and partners (ENSCI for example) to ensure this principle is respected, and with the aim of offering you high-quality products at a fair price.
At a time when everything is moving faster, adopting thoughtful, meticulous, and qualitative manufacturing is a real asset.
